Raising Awareness and Providing Guidance:
In our ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life for people living with and beyond cancer a series of awareness materials was developed as part of our work on Mental Health and Psychosocial Care. Our mission is to shed light on common mental health challenges and psychosocial effects while offering practical tips on how to address them.
Introducing the EU-CAYAS-NET pocket cards: Simple, Practical, and Accessible
To make these resources user-friendly and widely distributable, we have designed a set of EU-CAYAS-NET pocket cards. These cards are intended to be shared in clinics, patient organizations, and throughout the community. They serve as a foundation for dialogue among people living with and beyond cancer and their families, healthcare professionals, and others involved in the process such as teachers, friends, and peers. Additionally, these cards can be valuable tools in policy advocacy.
Comprehensive Information at Your Fingertips
Each pocket card zooms in on a specific topic, outlining the issue at hand, what actions are needed, and how to approach these actions, including recommendations for policy work. Additionally, they also feature key points and practical tips. The spare space on the respective card can be used to write down any notes or important contact details related to mental health services or support networks. They also provide a link to our website, beatcancer.eu, for more in-depth information.
Expert-Driven and Community-Approved
The topics covered are of high relevance and urgency to young people living with and beyond cancer. We collaborated with experts (patient advocates and healthcare professionals) in the field to create each card. Over the course of our project, we developed a total of nine cards, with plans to expand this collection in the future.
To ensure the content and design of the cards met the needs of our community, we worked in a feedback loop, gaining feedback from young cancer survivors, healthcare professionals, and representatives of patients and parents, helping us refine and perfect the final product.
Available Now: Download and Share
The pocket cards are available for download here as a whole set. You can also only download the topic(s) that are of interest to you. Please keep in mind, that one topic (or one card) always contains a front and back page.
