World Cancer Day - The Challenge of Five Young Cancer Survivors

Five young cancer survivors inspire a global 5Km Challenge, promoting regular physical activity and resilience on World Cancer Day.

Year:2024

Within the scope of the European project OACCUs - Outdoor Against Cancer Connect US and in the context of World Cancer Day, LIGA (Portugal) promoted an initiative to raise awareness of the adoption of a healthy lifestyle.

Five young cancer survivors, five life stories that, in common, share resilience in the fight against cancer, challenged the community to carry out the 5Km Challenge, a motto for regular physical activity and, together, to travel around the world.

Exercise Tips for Cancer Survivors:

  • Start with a warm-up to prepare your body.
  • Set a comfortable pace for the 5Km Challenge.
  • Listen to your body and rest if needed.
  • Stay hydrated and maintain a balanced diet.
  • Celebrate your achievements, no matter how small.
