hospital care for adolescents with cancer

This book compiles the study carried out by the “Federación Española de Padres de Niños con Cáncer” to investigate the care provided to adolescents with cancer in our country. Although the survey was conducted in only 28 pediatric units and 18 adult units, the results highlight significant variability in the care provided to these patients.

The study reveals discrepancies not only in the registration of epidemiological data on patients but also in the availability of psychological and social work support, hospitality, family accompaniment in intensive care units, palliative care, hospital classrooms, and recreational activities offered to patients during their hospital stay.
