EU-CAYAS-NET is excited to announce our policy event “Transition of Care from Pediatric to Adults” which will take place on 27th May from 9:30-14:00 EEST in Vilnius, Lithuania.

This event, co-organized by POLA and the EU-CAYAS-NET project, is focused on improving the transition of care for young cancer survivors from pediatric to adult healthcare. It will bring together key stakeholders including policymakers, healthcare professionals, patient advocates, and young people living with and beyond cancer themselves to discuss best practices, and government initiatives, and develop action plans for a smoother transition for young cancer survivors.

What to expect:

  • Opening remarks from Monika Ošmianskienė, the Chairman of the Commission for People with Disabilities of the Parliament of Lithuania
  • Presentations on the EU-CAYAS-NET project, Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, and government initiatives related to young cancer survivors.
  • Expert insights on current practices, best practices for transition care, and preliminary recommendations for improvement.
  • A panel discussion featuring diverse perspectives from healthcare professionals, patient representatives, and young cancer survivors.
  • Collaborative discussion on action points and next steps for enhancing the transition experience in Europe.
  • The signing of the Vilnius Declaration outlining a commitment to improving the transition of care.
