We are pleased to present our latest project: a manual for the Train-the-Trainer programme for educational and career support.
Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult (CAYA) cancer survivors face unique challenges on their education and career pathways. At the same time, schools and workplaces are often unaware of the needs associated with the disease and treatment and there is usually a lack of knowledge about what additional support can be offered. So, it is important to learn more about the needs of CAYA cancer survivors and to be able to provide appropriate support.
With our Train-the-Trainer programme, we want to promote educational and vocational situations that match the skills, personality, passion and future plans of survivors.
The manual comprises 9 modules (e.g. Personal factors: Reflection on education- and work-related strengths and weaknesses, Environmental factors: Analysis of school and workplace conditions and social network), always describing the goal, method and necessary materials for each module. The manual also contains theoretical information on the background of Train-the-Trainer and aspects of developmental psychology as well as examples for input and group work.
With the manual, anyone who has already taken part in the Train-the-Trainer can lead a Train-the-Trainer themselves. The training should be co-lead by patient advocates and healthcare professionals.
The programme is aimed at:
- People already working in the field of education and career support
- Anyone who wants to set up something in this field
- Anyone who is interested and wants to work with us to increase awareness in this field
We are confident that this manual will be a valuable resource for anyone interested in supporting cancer survivors in their educational and career development. Download the manual now and get ready to learn more!
