EU-CAYAS-NET

EU-CAYAS-NET is an EU-funded project led by patient advocates under one of the flagship initiatives of Europe´s Beating Cancer Plan to build a European Network of Youth Cancer Survivors and to create a Knowledge Centre and interactive Platform for social networking.
The project strives to improve three themes relevant to youth cancer survivors: quality of life of survivors, care for adolescents & young adults (AYA) with cancer, and equality, diversity, & inclusion (EDI).

The Network

Ambassadors

The EU-CAYAS-NET has established a network of European ambassadors, conducted interviews, and published our D1.1 Report on the Ambassador Programme, which can be accessed below.

Quality of Life

The European Network of Youth Cancer Survivors (EU-CAYAS-NET) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for young cancer survivors. As part of this effort, we provide a range of resources, including a comprehensive white paper and an Education & Career Support map, available on the Beat Cancer website.

Adolescent and Young Adult Care

The virtual roundtable concluded with a call to action, urging our collective efforts for legislative changes, increased funding, and collaborative initiatives to enhance AYA cancer care across Europe. The outlined takeaways provide a comprehensive roadmap for advancing the standards of care, underscoring our commitment as stakeholders to prioritize the well-being of AYA individuals facing cancer.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Cancer Care

The right of everyone to access healthcare is enshrined in Article 35 of the European Union’s Charter on Fundamental Rights, yet cancer care access and outcomes for young people can vary greatly depending on a multitude of factors.
