The programme combined practical activities and educational sessions focused on balanced nutrition, physical activity, mental wellbeing and sustainable lifestyle choices.
Programme highlights included:
• Yoga and mindfulness sessions focused on breathing techniques and gentle movement;
• Expert-led discussions on nutrition led by a professional nutritionist from ISMETT;
• A healthy cooking class organised together with Sicilian chef Peppe Agliano, inspired by Sicilian culinary traditions and focused on the benefits of the Mediterranean diet;
• A trekking experience to Capo Rama guided by Fiato Corto, where participants had the opportunity to connect with nature and discover the local Sicilian flora and fauna.
Throughout the bootcamp, participants showed strong engagement and enthusiasm, especially appreciating the combination of informative sessions and shared group activities. During the Bootcamp participants highlighted how the practical experiences, such as cooking together, practicing yoga, and spending time outdoors, made the programme more engaging and enjoyable.
The opportunity to share these experiences with peers contributed to creating a positive and supportive atmosphere, strengthening feelings of connection and inclusion within the group.
By bringing together wellbeing, education and peer support, the Healthy Lifestyle Bootcamp reflected YARN’s commitment to creating meaningful spaces where young people can learn from one another, connect with one another and share experiences together.
