EU-CAYAS-NET was an EU co-funded health project that created the European Network of Youth Cancer Survivors and launched beatcancer.eu as its knowledge centre and interactive platform for young people affected by cancer. The project ended in June 2025; its network, platform and publications continue under YARN, the European Youth Cancer Network.

What was EU-CAYAS-NET?

EU-CAYAS-NET, the European Network of Youth Cancer Survivors, was a project co-funded by the European Union under the EU4Health Programme. Between September 2022 and June 2025 it built a European network of young people affected by cancer, patient organisations and clinicians, and launched beatcancer.eu as its knowledge centre.

Who coordinated and funded the project?

Childhood Cancer International – Europe coordinated the consortium. The European Union covered 80% of the €6.25 million budget under grant agreement 101056918, and the European Commission lists the project among those financed under Europe's Beating Cancer Plan.

What did EU-CAYAS-NET produce?

Guidelines, toolkits, policy papers and declarations on quality of life after cancer, care for adolescents and young adults, and equality, diversity and inclusion, plus this platform. The deliverables and the full-text publications are available on this site.

What happened after the project ended?

The network and the platform continue under YARN, the European Youth Cancer Network, an EU4Health project running from July 2025 to June 2028 and coordinated by Youth Cancer Europe. beatcancer.eu remains the official platform of both.
