Their goals encompass a broad spectrum of support services for those impacted by cancer, ranging from patients and survivors to caregivers and families, offering counselling, support groups, and financial aid.

Advocacy and Outreach

Advocacy forms the bedrock of their mission, advocating for policies that advance cancer prevention, early detection, and improved healthcare access. Through amplifying public awareness and engaging with policymakers, they confront systemic issues in cancer care head-on.

Community outreach is paramount, as they collaborate with local organisations and healthcare providers to address specific cancer-related needs, particularly in underserved communities.

Prevention is a key focus, promoting healthy lifestyles, vaccinations (like the HPV vaccine for cervical cancer prevention), and regular screenings for early detection.

KARKINAKI’s Support Programme

On the psychosocial front, KARKINAKI offers free support services for cancer-diagnosed children, adolescents, and young adults, alongside their families, as well as to parents that lost a child, ranging from counselling and therapy groups to survivorship sessions and social activities.

They take pride in producing a practical guide on survival issues for young people affected by cancer, earning recognition for their dedication and efforts.
