Verschillen in lichaamsbeweging bij overlevenden van kanker onder adolescenten en jonge volwassenen

Uitleg over lichaamsbeweging als belangrijke factor in het bevorderen van (cardiovasculaire) gezondheid bij jonge overlevenden

Jaar:2022

After surviving CAYAS-cancer, young people are often at risk of developing chronic disease. But how can physical health be improved in general?

Physical activity is an important factor that can improve cardiovascular health. This article finds no overall differences in physical activity levels (moderate to vigorous) between survivors and controls by sociodemographic factors, medical history and cardiovascular risk factors – so basically survivors do about the same amount of exercise as people who did not have cancer at a young age.

Similar to the general population, there are certain factors that are risk factors for too little physical activity: low household income, low education, BMI, diabetes and smoking – all of these factors are associated with lower levels of physical activity. This again shows that many areas of life have an influence on physical health, which – especially after a cured illness – should be the highest good for everyone.

So, put on your trainers and let’s get moving!
