Join us for an insightful webinar discussing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in cancer care across Europe. This webinar is organized by the EU-CAYAS-NET project, funded by the European Union’s EU4Health Programme, which aims to improve the quality of life for childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancer survivors through innovative initiatives and network-building.

During this webinar, we will provide an overview of the amazing work conducted within Work Package 5 (WP5) of the EU-CAYAS-NET project, focusing on EDI in cancer care. The WP5 team has undertaken a comprehensive approach to understanding and addressing disparities, including:

  • Mapping and outreach to underrepresented populations across Europe
  • Conducting surveys to better understand the lived experiences and needs of marginalized groups
  • Performing a scoping literature review to identify existing knowledge gaps and best practices
  • Developing policy recommendations based on the findings from these research activities

We will also share highlights from the recent « Recommendations for Equitable, Diverse and Inclusive Cancer Care in Europe » Policy Event held at the European Parliament in Brussels. This event brought together key stakeholders to launch the WP5 policy paper, which outlines concrete steps for improving EDI in cancer care at the individual, institutional, and societal levels.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce the upcoming EDI Training sessions, which will deliver a comprehensive Train-the-Trainer Toolkit to three key audiences: healthcare providers, patient advocates, and researchers. Developed by Inclusive Employers, a leading EDI consultancy, this interactive curriculum aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools to drive meaningful change in their respective fields.

The webinar will conclude with information on how to register for the EDI Training sessions, as well as opportunities to get involved in the EU-CAYAS-NET project’s ongoing efforts to promote health equity for all young people affected by cancer.

Whether you are a healthcare professional, patient advocate, researcher, policymaker, or interested member of the public, this webinar offers valuable insights into the current state and future directions of EDI in cancer care. Join us to learn, engage, and become part of the solution to creating a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive future for all those impacted by cancer.
