Leukæmis indvirkning: Teenageres perspektiver på modstandsdygtighed og håb

Leukæmi som hovedperson i disse unges historie

År:2020

Leukaemia

Leukaemia wants to be the protagonist of their stories, but they are the ones who are going to show us the reality of this disease at an early age:

Pablo, 14 years old. Seville. Acute myeloid leukaemia at the age of 12.
Elías, 29 years old. Madrid. Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at the age of 19.
Juanxo, 22 years old. Cartagena. Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at the age of 19.
Lucía, 19 years old. Bilbao. Large diffuse lymphoma at the age of 17.
Rosi, 22 years old. A Coruña. Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at the age of 12.
Sandra, 21 years old. Santiago de Compostela. Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at the age of 18.
Victoria, 19 years old. Alcázar de San Juan. Hodgkin’s lymphoma at 11 and 16.

All of them have suffered cancer as teenagers. Is life the same as when they were children or adults? Absolutely not. They explain it to us in a wonderful video with the help of Dr. Anna Barata, a psycho-oncologist specialising in haematology at the Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa (Florida) and a collaborator of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute.
